The results are in! As summer comes to a close so does this summer’s food banks campaign. Each summer Make Space Cares has committed to fundraising for food banks across Canada. Like in previous years, for every new Make Space Storage rental in July & August we committed to donating $10 to Food Banks Canada.

We are excited to announce the results of our summer campaign. A huge thank you to all our customers and team members for making space at the table and working together to raise $14,000!

This donation means that 28,000 meals* will go to people in need across Canada.

*Based on Food Banks Canada meal metric, $1 = 2 meals.

Summer is a challenging time for food banks with a traditional dip in donations and increased need from families who can’t benefit from in-school programs. This year has been even more difficult with the addition of a cost-of-living crisis.

We designed the summer initiative to allow customers to contribute to a worthy cause without any additional expenses. We are grateful to make this donation on behalf of our customers and all our facility managers and employees.

Why Food Banks Canada?

 

Food Banks Canada works with more than 4,700 food banks and community agencies coast to coast to coast with the goal to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow. They work to guide systemic change and eliminate food insecurity once and for all.

We can see in the feedback from our staff, our customers, and our community members across the country, the importance of our continued support of food banks. Over the last 3 years Make Space Cares has made significant contributions to food banks across Canada in response to the immense need.

The countdown is already on for our Holiday food banks campaign! Starting November 1st, we’re once again collecting food and raising funds for food banks in the communities we work in and across Canada.
