At Make Space, we believe in the power of positivity and giving back to the community. This fall, we launched an internal fundraising campaign called “Pawsitive Vibes,” which combined two of our favourite things: pets and philanthropy. The idea was simple yet heartwarming – employees sent in photos of their furry friends, and for every photo received, the company would donate to charities that benefit animals. As a result, “Pawsitive Vibes” not only brought smiles to our faces but also made an impact on the lives of animals in need.

With many of us working remotely, staying connected and fostering a sense of community has become increasingly important. “Pawsitive Vibes” was a fantastic way to do just that. It provided an opportunity for employees to share a slice of their personal lives by introducing us to their beloved pets. The photos poured in, showcasing an incredible variety of cats and dogs – and even a bird or two. It was heartwarming to see the diversity of our employees’ furry companions.

But this campaign wasn’t just about joy and connection; it was about making a tangible impact. In total our employees raised $1,400 dollars to support animals! And when it came to deciding where to donate these funds, we let the employees have their say. While people had different opinions, there was a strong preference for helping animals affected by this summer’s devastating wildfires. So, in the end, we decided to direct the donations to two fantastic organizations: NWT SPCA and BC SPCA. Through our collective efforts, we were able to make a difference in the lives of animals.

This year we’ve also been able to support animal-focused charities in other ways. In Ontario, we’ve donated the use of much-needed portable storage containers to both the Renfrew County Animal Centre and the Arnprior & District Humane Society.

We look forward to more fundraising opportunities to support our communities and our furry friends, pawsitively impacting lives together.
